North and Main Streets
Fitchburg, Massachusetts

At the corner of North and Main Streets, where downtown Fitchburg meets Fitchburg State University, the Fitchburg Commons Project will introduce a mix of retail and housing to an area designated as a key component for the ongoing revitalization of downtown Fitchburg.

The 4 story building along Main Street consists of street level retail, with three levels of housing above. A proposed second phase of residential creates an edge along North Street, the gateway to the University. A large ‘Common Green’ provides a landscaped urban front yard for the residences. A pedestrian bridge connects the ‘Green’ to the main entry of the Main Street residences.
