Harbin Huonju Tower Complex
Harbin, China

A winning competition entry, the design, the Huonju Tower Complex will be the new home for the local government, centered around a 100 meter tower, linked to lower structures housing the pubic service departments.

Designed to be responsive the the rising awareness of energy conservation and the quality of indoor spaces, the tower design incorporates linked sky-gardens, which bring natural light into all public and private indoor spaces and serve as solar heat collectors during the long, cold Harbin winters and the central chimney for natural ventilation during the mild summer months.
