Redmans Dancehall
Damariscotta Lake, Maine

Built originally in the 1820's as a part of the surrounding mills complex, this historic building, on the shores of Damariscotta Lake, was enlarged in the 1920's and operated as a dancehall by the Order of the Redmen during the first half of the 1900's. The building served as Hollis Nelson's welding shop from the 1940's through the 1990's.

Restored in 2004, the 'Dancehall' now serves as quarters for the 'Artist in Residency' program for Roundtop Center for the Arts, with a second unit - summer residence - on the upper floors.
