The most significant challenge in the design of the riding rink was the structure required to span the 80' width and 200' length. The desire to keep the structure required for these large spans as 'light' as possible resulted in a very sophisticated 3 dimensional truss structure composed of light wooden members and steel tension cables.

Careful attention to the detailing of all of the custom woodwork - from living quarters to the gazebo to the stalls - resulted in a "beautiful contemporary structure with the classic and warm feel of something that has been around for centuries".
